About the project
Our main goal we want to achieve is; In line with our digital security priority; To ensure that students recognize cyberbullying and use strategies to prevent it, and to improve their skills in dealing with cyberbullying.
At least one secondary school student a week in the project partner schools complained about being exposed to cyberbullying; Guidance unit reports show that disciplinary incidents related to this issue have increased in schools. Although cyber bullying occurs at all ages, considering the importance of raising awareness and coping skills at an early age, our target group consists of secondary school students between the ages of 10-14. The fact that cyberbullying is among the causes of suicide in children and young people (Özer, 2016) necessitates prevention and intervention studies for this target group
Our project aims to promote equality of opportunity, access, participation, diversity and justice in all its actions.
Main goal
The project aims to create, design, develop, and prepare effective implementation examples of an educational program focused on raising awareness about cyberbullying and preventing it to support students’ social and emotional development.
Timeframe
At the beginning of the project, training will be provided to volunteer teachers from different disciplines in partner schools. When selecting teachers to participate in these trainings, innovative practices in their fields will be taken into account, based on a voluntary basis. Teachers involved in the project will attend these trainings. It can be said that all teachers voluntarily participating in the project will act as agents of change in preventing cyberbullying, thereby ensuring the acceptance and dissemination of our project among other teachers.
During the 24-month project duration, guided by teachers, activities and workshops will be organized by students during short-term student exchanges to increase awareness of cyberbullying. Planned activities on themes encompassing various disciplines will enhance our students’ research, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, while their collaboration in joint projects will also contribute to their social and emotional learning. A motivating educational program covering various areas involving real-life situations will be developed in the project. This program will be effective for both teachers and students. One of the impacts of our project will be our students gaining tolerance towards communities with different cultural backgrounds and traditions. Furthermore, it is thought that students will develop competencies such as information and technology literacy, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and collaboration, ethical and effective use of technology, and awareness of different cultures, and the project will motivate foreign language learning. Within the scope of the project, students will have a great opportunity to discover and experience different talents and improve their communication skills through activities such as logo design, emoji design, poster design, brochure design, composition, video recording, and audio recording.
Expected Results
* Developing self-expression and communication (verbal, written, symbolic and digital) skills and empathy skills,
